Diane Killing Chione, one of the 1st-known paintings by Nicolas Poussin
Several years after the purchase of The Flight to Egypt, the Lyon Museum of Fine Arts reiterates, revealing today the acquisition of this early work by Poussin – probably made when traveling to Rome – in excellent condition, acquired for an amount significantly lower than the first painting: The Death of Chione or Diana Killing Chione, painted circa 1622-1623.
